How to Reduce Pain from Wisdom Teeth

As far as 'in the mouth' activities goes, there's nothing quite as painful as tooth ache includom wisdom teeth problems.  If you're experiencing pain from wisdom teeth, try one of these natural pain-relieving solutions. Not only are these solutions healthy and easy to use, but chances are you'll have most of the ingredients in your kitchen so you won't need to spend any money.

Salt & Warm Water

Mix a cup of hot water (as hot as you can stand) with a teaspoon of salt and stir to dissolve. Rinse your mouth for 30-60 seconds, then spit it out. Rinse as many times as you need throughout the day. The gargling in the sore area hot baths the area and helps disloge any impacted food.

Cloves

Place a whole clove in your mouth, directly on the area that hurts the most. Keep it there until your mouth begins to feel numb. It may feel uncomfortable but it can help. Cloves have anaesthetic and antibacterial properties, so they’re an option if you can't get in to see your dentist. You can also use clove oil by dabbing some on a cotton ball or swab and gently brushing your gums with it around the wisdom tooth. If the taste of clove is too strong, mix it with a little bit of olive oil to dilute it. Repeat this treatment as often as you need.

Ice

A classic go-to for pain relief is ice. To reduce swelling, use an ice pack to fight inflammation and pain.

Peppermint

Pick some fresh leaves from the garden or buy a bunch from the local supermarket and pack them into the area that hurts. Leave for 20 minutes or until the paid subsides. You can also apply a few drops of peppermint extract by putting it on a cotton ball or swab and leaving it on the sore area for a few minutes. Peppermint has strong anaesthetic properties and some believe it has an antbacterial efffect

Over the counter pain killers

If home remedies, don't work, you can try OTC pain killers such as Ibuprofen or panadol - whatever you normally take for a headache. However, it is important to see your doctor or dentist first if you do not usually take this type of medication, since your medical history may preclude you from taking over the counter pain killers.
