Tristan Barker
Tristan Barker

Principle dentist

Tristan graduated from Manchester University with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2001. After working in general practice, Tristan returned to hospital to work in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department. He gained valuable surgical experience alongside his membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, England. Tristan practiced in the UK for ten years before emigrating to New Zealand in 2011. During his time in general dental practice, he has continued his professional education, including a certificated course in Oral Implantology and a diploma in restorative dentistry, both awarded by the Royal College of Surgeons. More recently, in August 2025, Tristan was made an Associate Fellow of the College of General Dentistry.

Tristan enjoys all aspects of general and surgical dentistry. He aims to provide his patients with the optimal experience in what is often an extensive and lengthy process. His ethos is one of a relaxed but comprehensive attitude in providing the best possible care in a comfortable environment.

Tristan is the Principal dentist of Hobsonville Point Dental, setting up the practice in 2016. Tristan and his family enjoy living and working in the Hobsonville Point Community.

Onnara Lee
Onnara Lee

Dentist

Onnara graduated from University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2006. After graduation, she worked in hospital in Victoria, Australia, gaining valuable experience in oral surgery for a year before heading into private practice in Auckland.

Onnara enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and believes in a conservative and gentle approach with a special interest in intravenous sedation, which allows her to provide comfortable and stress free dental treatments to her patients, from wisdom teeth extraction to any other restorative dental work.

When Onnara is not working you will find her out in the garden with her fur babies or on the Hobsonville Point Coastal walkway.

Katherine Fowler

Following graduation from the University of Otago in 2016, Katherine has returned to her home on Auckland’s North Shore. Katherine enjoys all aspects of general dentistry with a particular interest in prosthodontics (crown, bridge and dentures). Prides herself on her communication skills, using easy to understand language and is happy to take the time to answer any dental questions you may have. She is committed to delivering a full range of dental services tailored to each individual patient and considers patient satisfaction a genuine reward. Aside from dentistry Katherine enjoys trying new foods, reading a good book and traveling. The latter of which has taken her to Cambodia where she has provided dental care to the rural communities there. She is committed to continuing this venture in the future.

Practice Manager

Kylee has been working in Dentistry since 2013, completing her NZDA certificate in Dental assisting in 2014. She enjoys all aspects in Dentistry and is passionate on helping nervous patients have the best experience possible. She believes that personal interaction and building relationships with our patients is key to providing a warm welcoming environment at Hobsonville Point Dental.

Anjalyn Kumar
Anjalyn Kumar

Oral Health Therapist

Anjalyn graduated from University of Otago with a Bachelor of Oral Health Sciences in 2014. After working with the DHB, she completed her postgraduate qualification in advanced clinical practice from the University of Melbourne in Australia.

Anjalyn has practiced in the public and private sectors across both New Zealand and Australia, where she worked for the Royal Flying Doctors and the Remote area Health corps. This latter saw her receiving significant praise for providing primary dental care to children in remote indigenous communities across the Northern Territory.

She enjoys treating both children and adults with a strong passion for paediatric dentistry, eliminating fears and making children's dental experiences enjoyable and positive. She will make you feel completely at ease. Anjalyn has a special interest in periodontal management and preventive dentistry. She has widespread knowledge in dental disease prevention and is an advocate for oral health promotion, where she works to build patients awareness in understanding their dental conditions.

Outside of work, Anjalyn in an enthusiastic traveller, having travelled to 31 countries and counting. She enjoys meeting new people, keeping fit and trying fine wine.

Oral Health Therapist

Kaela graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2016 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health.

Prior to joining the team at Hobsonville Point Dental, she has spent 6 years refining her expertise in dental hygiene and oral health therapy in private practice. Specialising in preventive dentistry, periodontal therapy, paediatric care, and teeth whitening, Kaela strives to provide tailored, high-quality treatment for every patient. Her patients frequently praise her meticulous and gentle clinical techniques, as well as her compassionate and nurturing demeanour.

Outside of dentistry, Kaela prioritises family time with her husband and son, this often involves finding a nice cafe with a park or walks with their dog. She also finds joy in baking, anything crafty and getting stuck into a good book.

Annalise Wood
Annalise Wood

Oral Health Therapist

Annalise has worked across Auckland since graduating as an Oral Health Therapist from the Auckland University of Technology in 2017, she has worked in both private and public clinics. Annalise has a passion for working with each individual patient to ensure optimal oral health is achieved. She is meticulous in her treatment and thrives on her open communication with her patients and gentle nature to ensure the experience in the dental chair is as enjoyable as possible. Her special interests clinically are periodontal therapy, preventative dentistry and paediatric care. Outside of work Annalise enjoys going to the gym, playing squash, being a foodie and socialising with friends.

Sheila Ortiz

Dental Assistant

Sheila has been working as a dental assistant since 2006. She finished her dental assisting course in 2009. She chose this career because she likes a variety in day to day routine. She loves meeting people and enjoys looking after patients and provide them assistance wherever needed.

Out of work she spends time with family and they enjoy dining out and trying different cuisines
